Cause and Effect Essay

A cause and effect essay is concerned with why something takes place and the conclusion resulting. This appears to be very clear cut but it needs to be elaborated in uncluttered language, syntax and layout.

While composing a cause and effect essay, the writer should first of all elaborate on why something should happen and then highlight and assess the effect. After the first statement has been made, the cause and effect essay will develop the statement and then outline what aspect the essay will concentrate on. The essay should then proceed to offer evidence and support and to outline terms that are to be used that are related to the topic.

As with most essays, there are key issues to be offered, especially linked to purpose. In this case, it will be to decide whether the emphasis is to be on informing or persuading your reader. Facts and figures should be used if necessary to back up information along with points of view as well.
